“When the world is so busy and the influences so many, how do we filter out the noise and focus on what matters? The Dulux Colour Forecast 2019 is all about creating your happy place and living your best life.”
This collection of quite diverse colours has been carefully chosen to Repair our connection with nature and encourage rituals of wellness to restore our Wholeself.
If that’s not quite your thing, in contrast the other two collections encourage a legacy of elegance whilst creating a bold and spirited Identity.
The good news is that there are 4 trend collections, Repair, Wholeself, Legacy and Identity, each consisting of a range of 12 colours. These are each addressed towards a different lifestyle connected to different emotions. So there really is something for everyone.
Now we are all for self-development, enlightenment and grounding ourselves with an honest sense of identity like the next person. But some of these colours have our girls fearing nightmares of trends back from the 80’s! Think terracotta but with a new name and bright yellow tiles. You may love it! But it’s not our thing.
This is only a very small part of the collection though. Everything else is stunningly beautiful and inspires creativity and happiness in the home. It only makes me want to reach for the roller and start my colour scheme all over again.
Some of us more earthy ones in the office (Ange, the one writing this particular article. Yep hello.) are loving the more eco-friendly vibe of the Repair collection. The natural tones are very well suited to a vintage bohemian styled home, yet I can see them tying in well with some of the more minimalist coastal styles as well.
Whereas Janelle our Principal Agent who has much more experience in designing homes from the ground up and tends to go for more of the contemporary style colours. Although she is tempted by the more royal colours found in the Legacy collection and the pastels of the Wholeself range. – If you wanted to take anyone’s advice it would be hers. She knows what sells and dates well. I’m just a hippy with a little too much imagination.
So make yourself a coffee and have a flick through the digital look-book here to see what ignites your creative flare for 2019.
